It’s the International Bluegrass Music Association’s jam time season all over again! To correspond with the World of Bluegrass trifecta of annual events set in Nashville, Tenn., this week, IBMA and Gibson have produced another batch of can’t-miss Gibson After Hours Showcases. If you can’t make it out to the shows, you'll want to watch the videos below to get a taste of some of the best acts in bluegrass today!
The showcase on Wednesday, Oct. 1 belongs to the amazing Skaggs Family Records. The legendary Ricky Skaggs and his Kentucky Thunder will be performing, as well as Cherryholmes, Cadillac Sky and the Whites. All of the Skaggs Family artists performing at the Showcase have new CDs out on the market — Cherryhomes III by the Cherryholmes, Gravity Is Our Enemy by Cadillac Sky and Ricky Skaggs' The High Notes. Thursday night, the showcase kicks off with the celebrated Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, followed by bestselling acts Grasstowne and Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out. The following evening begins with the exhilarating, eclectic sound of Radiola, featuring among others David Harvey, who is not only a masterful mandolinist and producer, but also happens to be a Master Luthier and Mandolin/Production Supervisor at Gibson Original Instruments’ Opry Mills location. Finishing out the evening is 16-year-old superstar Sierra Hull.
